The Application of Biochar from Waste Biomass to Improve Soil Fertility and Soil Enzyme Activity and Increase Carbon Sequestration

Biochar (BC) is a material that has many applications in agricultural and environmental activities. The aim of the study was to define influence BC produced low-temperature pyrolysis from various organic waste materials, including one-month-old compost (OMOC), pine bark (PB), needle mulch (NM), cones (PC) maple leaves (ML), on soil enzyme activity as well its relation with matter properties. A 60-day incubation pot experiment set up investigate amendment (S) characteristics. After incubation, we investigated enzymes, content available phosphorus (AP), potassium (AK) magnesium (AMg), total carbon (TOC), nitrogen (TN), dissolved (DOM) fractional composition (content share humic (CHAs, NHAs) fulvic (CFAs, NFAs) acids humin fractions). effect amended biochars differed depending feedstock material. In general, use biochar enriched AP, AK AMg increased stock, intensity transformation influenced activity. OMOC ML significantly fertility, which expressed by high value CHA/CFA ratio.
